During Rain or Heat, Children... Don't Get Bored!

Often the simplest games are the most fun! Creatively use a free moment - in a waiting room or during rain. All you need are a few sheets of paper and a set of crayons. Have fun!

Words.

The game involves writing down as many words as possible from a given category within a set time, e.g., "supermarket products," "vegetables." After each round, we assign points: 1 word – 1 point. The player with the most points wins.

Simple Drawings.

Participants are tasked with creating a joint drawing. However, each of them can use only one (chosen or drawn) element, e.g., "circle," "semi-circle," "square," "line." They draw in turn, each time adding only one element.

Opposites.

We prepare as many sheets as there are participants in the game. In the middle of each, we draw a thick line, thus dividing it into two equal parts. On one half, participants draw a picture representing a word with an opposite, e.g., "night," "sad." Then they exchange sheets. They guess the content of the received drawing. On the other half of the sheet, they draw its opposite.

Perfect Memory.

We place several objects in a specific order in front of the participant, e.g., ball-bear-doll-box. Then we cover or take away the objects. The task is to draw the remembered items in the correct order.

Fun Storytelling.

The game involves jointly writing a story. The first participant writes the introduction at the top of the sheet. They fold it so others can't read the written content. The next participant writes the next sentence underneath – the more unusual or funny, the better. Repeat the game until the entire sheet is filled. Then read the story together.

Grids.

On a sheet, we draw several rectangles. Each is divided into five roughly equal parts with vertical lines. Together with the child, we think of words that contain 5 letters. We write them into the prepared models. With a red crayon, we color the boxes with vowels, and with a blue one, the consonants.

One of the participants poses, and the rest try to create his portrait or caricature.

Replica.

The game involves reproducing a chosen painting, drawing, or illustration as accurately as possible.

Symmetrical Pictures.

In the middle of the sheet, we draw a thick line, dividing it into two equal parts. We ask the child to start drawing on one side, starting from the middle. We draw a symmetrical picture on the other side of the sheet. Then we switch roles.

Potato.

A classic, simple game loved by children! On a sheet, we write numbers in random places (1-10 for younger children, 1-20 for older ones). The first participant draws a circle around number 1 and connects it with a line to number 2, again encircling it. The next player connects number 2 with 3. The lines cannot intersect. The game continues until all numbers are circled.
